Their Pastitsio is the best ever! The eggplant parmesan was crispy, cheesy and delicious. Great pasta sauce. There were 9 of us and everyone loved their meal! It's a little dark in there at lunch time but the food is really good! I can't wait to go back! I wish I had room for dessert.

Before our visit, we had never been to this location. We always ate at the location in Gilbert when it was open. I'll tell you they didn't disappoint. The marinara sauce was so good, and you get a large portion! The service was fantastic and attentive. Keep up the great work!!

Update: March 25, 2025: Returned to Angelos's today to show off the place to my brother visiting from Atlanta. He and my husband got the "create your own" Calzone, while I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Plate. (Photos below) Everything was very, very good. The great tasting food, prices, and portions are what keep folks coming back. You must get by soon. Remember they close during the week between 2 pm and 5 pm. Original Post: Angelos of Batesburg has been open for several years. We are just getting around to having a meal there. Cozy, welcoming feel to the dining room and quaint bar in the rear. Note: Angelos does a lunchtime service from 11 am - 2 pm, closes, and re-opens at 5 pm until 9 pm. Closed on Sunday & Monday. We arrived around 5:15 pm and 4 tables had already been sat. We started with Spanikopita appetizer. The spinach and feta stuffed phyllo was flavorful, light, and crispy. Black olives, tomato, and more crumbled feta garnished the plate. I had a pleasant glass of Pinot Grigio to accompany my meal. For our main course, I had the large Greek salad, and Jesse went for the Pastichio with Greek Green Beans. (Not to be confused with Pastachio as in nut - LOL.) A chilled, large bowl of fresh romaine and spinach were well complimented by feta cheese, Pepperoncinis peppers, Greek olives, and Cherry tomato halves. The "house" Greek dressing is de-lish -- has just the right zest. The Pastichio was incredible. My husband let me have a taste. Macaroni elbows mixed with ground beef, creamy bachamel sauce, and the kicker -- a ever so slight dusting of cinnamon. Oh my, what a combination. The portion was HUGE. I even snagged a couple of the Greek green beans - nicely spiced and cooked in a bit of juice from tomatoes. About half way through our meal, we noticed the dining room filling up. I figured they would have a healthy Friday and Saturday night crowd. The tables have a timely turn over rate, so I would not anticipate a long wait time even on busy nights. I'm afraid I missed a photo, but Jesse got a slice of their Mississippi Mud Pie. Outstanding!! Yes, I got to steal a small taste of the pie. I did get a photo of the dessert fridge. Be sure to give it a look. As we walked out around 6:30 pm, there were a handful of folks waiting for seating. There is a nice large bench inside. It was a pleasant evening, so a few folks elected to wait outside and chatting away. Angelos is part of a cluster of businesses and has ample parking. Convenient for locals and only 15 minutes off I-20 at Exit 39, should you be traveling.
